Very, very cool stuff. I really like the way it's being implemented so far too...its own currency, tradeable items, etc. Good work CCP! ~Gnosis~ |

These items, other than how they are initially purchased, are just like any other item.
If it is in your pod (ie, wearing it), nothing survives being podded.
But how could anyone be wearing anything in their pod? I mean, think of the dry cleaning bill to get all of that pod goo out of your nice clothing! ~Gnosis~ |

It's funny to me that people who play a game that's hyper-capitalistic have issues with new currencies and new things to buy in said game. ~Gnosis~ |

I won't argue with your assumption of 80%....but let me get this straight: so, we're talking about 5% of the player base that don't want micro's? Well then, burn down the house....WTF CCP!? ~Gnosis~ |

How do you pronounce that? Espececially the short form? Can you say it like a word or are letters needed (ay-you-arr)?
Aurum= Are-um (soft on the r) ~Gnosis~ |

To all the haters, ragequitters, and uber-boobers: it's REAAAALLY easy to make this all go away if you really hate it that much. How you ask? Just don't buy the stuff and it'll shortly crash and burn...because NOBODY likes this change according to many of you, right? ~Gnosis~ |

It is crap like this that is going to get the MMO industry regulated by government.
Because the publishers lack the self control to not take advantage of what they believe to be a captive, addicted audience.
Do you actually believe you're being taken advantage of when your relationship to CCP is completely voluntary (unlike the government)? That's inane. If the government ever gets involved, it'll be the doom of good MMO's. ~Gnosis~ |

I guess you think it would be okay for BP to drill Alaska and the Arctic and fill those entire landmasses with Oil rigs, pollution and make them devoid of animal life too uh? I mean, they are a company and they have every right to make as much money as they can right?
Did you really just do that? You're comparing a natural disaster on the planet we all share to internet spacefashion pixles? Really? ~Gnosis~ |

And about 32 of those 39 pages are stuffed with posts by the same posters who've flooded this thread (and many others) with their regurgitated opinions on the matter. And don't forget, the forums make up a tiny percentage of the entire playerbase in Eve (maybe 5%?)...not exactly a representative sample.

Can CCP not see what the **** they are doing? Tbe people that read and reply to this are the ones that CARE and want to play.
Because instead of playing the game, they're kvetching on the forum?
It's always fun to hit the forums after a big announcement by CCP. I understand having a different opinion on this whole thing, but I don't at all get the vitriol and hate being spewed forth.
I'll just repeat that I think it's an innovative way to a) introduce MT b) allow CCP finer, high-level control over the economy of Eve (yes, there is no such thing as a truly free market...all markets are joint creations between the players and the rule makers) c) introduce some much needed visual customization into Eve without the lightning-purple mohawks (so, so thrilled CCP has so far said they'll be keeping a tight control on the visual style of the items sold for AUR).
Whether you like everything CCP does to Eve or not, you have to admit they always pick unique and innovative ways to do it. That right there is worth the whole of my sub. It'll be a joy to see what happens with MT/AUR/Incarna...and what happens next. ~Gnosis~ |

Just dropping a line to say thank you to Avy Alvhenor for bringing some much needed intelligence to this debate. Anyone who's still confused and angry about this change should read your posts 10 times over until they get it. ~Gnosis~ |
